Melankoliyi Rasyonalize Etmek: Aristotelesçi Gelenek ve Rönesans’ın Melankoli Düşüncesi Üzerine Bir Okuma
Abstract
Bu makalede Aristotelesçi geleneğin melankoli hakkındaki görüşleri, Aristoteles’in tevarüs etmiş olduğu melankoli anlayışıyla birlikte okunacak, süreklilik ve dönüşümlere temas edilecektir. Aristotelesçi geleneğin melankoliye yaklaşımı ortaya konulduktan sonra, Rönesans döneminde melankoli anlayışının geldiği nokta süreklilikler ve kırılma noktaları üzerinden gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır. Aristotelesçi bir yazar tarafından kaleme alınan Problemler adlı eser merkezinde yürütülecek olan bu çalışma Problemler’de melankoliye dair getirilen yaklaşımın Rönesans’a geçerken Orta Çağ felsefesinde hangi dönüşümlere uğradığına da temas etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, Aristotelesçi geleneğin tevarüs ettiği melankoli geleneğinden başlayarak, Orta Çağ’daki akedia ve günah kavramları üzerinden Rönesans döneminin melankoli anlayışına geçilecek ve melankoli- deha ilişkisinin bu farklı tarihsel periyotlarda nasıl şekillendiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır.
