Abstract
Kitap, hicrî ikinci ve üçüncü yüzyıllarda kelami tartışmaların ortaya çıkışını incelemektedir. Tarihi kaynakların ustalıkla kullanılması, konuların zaman ve zemin bağlantısı içerisinde incelenmesi, fıkıh usûlü ve tarih gibi diğer branşlarla irtibatlı noktaların açığa çıkarılması; kitabın öne çıkan özellikleridir. Hicri ikinci ve üçüncü yüzyıllarda kelam ilminde öne çıkan şahsiyetler aynı zamanda fakih ve müfessir ya da muhaddis olabilmişlerdir. Bu yönüyle kitap, söz konusu döneme ait şahsiyetlerin zengin bir biyografisini de sunmaktadır.
